About Chopta

Chopta sits on a high meadow belt in Rudraprayag and is where most people start the Tungnath trek, one of the Panch Kedar shrines. Short walks climb from oak and rhododendron forest into alpine grass toward Tungnath and onward to Chandrashila for sunrise views. It stays quieter than the big Char Dham towns and suits a short trek-focused stay.
