Sringeri

About Sringeri

Sringeri is a peaceful temple town located on the banks of the Tunga River in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. It is one of the four main Advaita mathas founded by Adi Shankaracharya, making it an important center of spirituality and learning. The town is best known for the Sharada Peetham and the beautiful Sri Sharadamba Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of wisdom. Surrounded by green hills, coconut trees, and calm riverbanks, Sringeri offers both spiritual peace and natural beauty. The rhythmic chants, ancient temples, and the sight of fish being fed near the river make it a serene and memorable experience for visitors.
