About Lonavala

Lonavala is a popular hill station in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra, sitting on the Mumbai-Pune expressway at about 625 metres. It is one of the most visited weekend escapes from both cities, known for its waterfalls, forts, valleys, and cool monsoon climate. Bhushi Dam, Tiger's Leap, Rajmachi Fort, and Lohagad Fort are the main attractions. The Karla and Bhaja caves, dating to the 2nd century BCE, add an important historical dimension. Lonavala is also famous for its chikki, a local sweet sold across countless roadside shops. With easy access by road and train, it draws enormous weekend traffic from Mumbai and Pune.
