Bhushi Dam

Bhushi Dam sits on the Indrayani River and turns into Lonavala's most crowded monsoon attraction when overflow water rushes down its stepped masonry in frothy cascades. Visitors wade through the shallow flowing water, picnic on the surrounding rocks, and take in views of the green hills that ring the reservoir. The atmosphere is lively rather than tranquil, especially on weekends during the rains, with families and groups gathering for the classic Lonavala monsoon experience. Outside the wet season the dam is quieter, with the emptied basin exposing the concrete steps and a calmer stretch of river.
