About Kasauli

Himachal Pradesh

Overview

Kasauli is a small cantonment town in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, set up by the British in 1842. The Upper and Lower Mall loop through pine and oak forest past old cottages and Christ Church, and Sunset Point looks out over the plains of Punjab and Haryana, which turn into a carpet of lights after dark. Monkey Point, the highest point in town, has a Hanuman temple inside an Air Force station. Kasauli is about 290 km from Delhi and about 60 km from Chandigarh, which makes it an easy two night trip.
