Sunset Point is about 1 km from the Kasauli bus stand along the Lower Mall side of town. In the evening the ridges below turn gold and the plains of Punjab and Haryana spread out to the south; on a very clear day you can pick out Chandigarh. After dark the plains become a sheet of lights. Come 30 minutes before sunset to get a spot on busy weekends, and carry a jacket, as it cools fast once the sun drops. The Gilbert Trail starts a short walk above.
