About Ziro Valley

Ziro Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage-nominated landscape in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, home to the Apatani tribe and their distinctive agricultural system of flooded rice paddies interspersed with pine forests. The valley sits at around 1,500 metres and has a mild, pleasant climate year round. Traditional Apatani villages like Hong, Hari, and Bamin-Michi preserve a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. The Ziro Music Festival held each September has brought the valley to national attention as a destination for slow travel and cultural immersion. Inner Line Permits are required for all visitors.
