Kharsali Village

Kharsali is a quiet Himalayan village situated about 5 to 8 km from Yamunotri, also known locally as Khushimath. Wooden and stone houses, lush green meadows and small waterfalls surround the settlement, giving it a rustic character distinct from busier pilgrim stops nearby. It holds considerable religious importance as the winter seat of Goddess Yamuna and offers visitors a genuine glimpse of rural Garhwal life, with warm hospitality and traditional architecture unchanged over many generations of habitation.
