Sonmarg

About Sonmarg

Sonmarg, meaning “Meadow of Gold,” is a breathtaking valley in Jammu and Kashmir, known for its snowy mountains, green meadows, and flowing rivers. Surrounded by tall peaks of the Himalayas, it is one of the most beautiful places in the Kashmir Valley. The Sindh River runs through Sonmarg, adding to its charm and offering spots for trout fishing and picnics. In summer, the meadows bloom with colorful flowers, while in winter the whole area turns white with snow. It is also the base for treks to Thajiwas Glacier and Amarnath Yatra, making it a favorite for both nature lovers and pilgrims.
