About Dasada

Gujarat

Overview

Dasada is a village in Surendranagar district of Gujarat at the edge of the Little Rann of Kutch, and one of the main places to stay for the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary. The sanctuary covers about 4,954 sq km of salt flats, scrub and seasonal wetlands, and it is the only wild home of the Indian wild ass, or khur. In winter the wetlands draw flamingos, cranes and pelicans. Nearby Bajana has the Range Forest Office, and Zainabad offers more rural stays.
