About BR Hills

Karnataka

Overview

BR Hills, or Biligiriranga Hills, is a hill range in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka, on the border with Tamil Nadu. The Biligiri Ranganatha Swamy temple sits on the hilltop, and the forests around it form the BRT Tiger Reserve, declared in 2011. The hills link the Western and Eastern Ghats and hold tigers, elephants, gaur, leopards and many birds. The Soliga people live in these forests, and stays include the K Gudi camp run by Jungle Lodges.
