Pro-Tips for Your Visit
- The "Kai Po Che" Experience: On January 14 (the day of Uttarayan), while the Riverfront event is spectacular, the real energy moves to the rooftops. If you want a truly local experience, head to the terraces of the Old City (Khadia or Raipur) in the afternoon to witness the "kite wars" and join the victory cries.
- Avoid the "Manjha": If traveling by two-wheeler, wear a thick scarf or neck guard. The glass-coated kite strings (Manjha) can be hazardous on bridges and open roads during this week.
- The Early Bird Advantage: International teams usually begin their displays by 10:30 AM when the thermal winds are optimal. Arrive early to secure a spot before the massive evening crowds arrive.
- Bird Safety: Yatrigo supports ethical travel. If you participate in kite flying, please use "Sadi" (plain cotton thread) instead of metallic or glass-coated strings to protect local birds.
- Seamless Transit: Parking near the riverfront is extremely limited. We highly recommend using the Ahmedabad Metro it is a comfortable 10-minute walk from the Old High Court station to the main entrance.
