A 337 sq km biodiversity sanctuary with clouded leopards, rare bamboo species and dense old growth forest.

Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary spans 337 sq km at around 2,400 metres, covered in silver fir, pine, bamboo and rhododendron forest. It shelters rare species including the clouded leopard and Himalayan black bear, plus a bamboo variety found nowhere else in the world. The sanctuary is reached by trekking from Ziro town and rewards visitors with birdwatching, forest immersion and a genuine sense of untouched wilderness rarely found this close to a valley floor.
