Urgam

About Urgam

Urgam is a peaceful and scenic valley in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, surrounded by tall mountains, pine forests, and green fields. It is known for its Kalpeshwar Temple, one of the five Panch Kedar shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, where the deity is worshipped in the form of matted hair. The valley is filled with small villages, apple orchards, and terraced farms, giving it a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Trekkers and devotees often walk through this beautiful region to reach Kalpeshwar, enjoying views of snow peaks and pure mountain air. Urgam’s natural charm and quiet spirituality make it a true hidden gem in the Himalayas.
