Changangkha Lhakhang on its hillside above Thimphu.
Changangkha Lhakhang is one of the oldest temples in Thimphu, set on a ridge above the town with views over the valley. Its main image is of Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion. Local families come here to have newborn children blessed and named, so the courtyard is often busy with parents and babies. Walk the prayer wheels around the outside, and remove shoes and hats before entering the shrine.
