Thalassery Fort (Tellicherry Fort) is a laterite square fort built by the British East India Company in the early 1700s on a low hill overlooking the Arabian Sea. Massive walls, flanking bastions, carved doors, and underground chambers that once stored pepper and cardamom still define the site. It has been protected by the Archaeological Survey of India since 1921 and sits within a short walk of Thalassery railway station. Nearby you will find sea views toward the old harbour and the short Thalassery lighthouse marker.
