Sree Jagannath Temple at Temple Gate in Thalassery was consecrated by Sree Narayana Guru in 1908 as a place of worship open beyond caste barriers. The main deity is Lord Shiva, and the complex includes wood carvings, a pond-side setting, and a statue of the Guru installed in 1927. Kerala Tourism notes that the temple opened to people of all castes from the 1920s and later joined the Thalassery Heritage Tourism Circuit. It stands near Temple Gate railway station, about 1 to 2 km from the town centre.
