Dharmadam Island, also called Green Island or Pachathuruth, is a small palm-covered islet of about 2 hectares off Dharmadam Beach, roughly 4 km from Thalassery town. It sits about 100 metres from the mainland and is a clear landmark from Muzhappilangad Beach. At low tide many visitors walk across the shallow stretch; boats also leave from near Moidu Bridge on the Kannur-Thalassery road. The island is privately controlled, so landing usually needs prior permission. Check local tide tables and return before the water rises.
