The Tamralipta Archaeological Museum, run by a local trust, holds finds from Tamluk and the surrounding area, the site of the ancient port of Tamralipta. The collection includes terracotta figurines and plaques, coins, beads, pottery and stone sculpture, some dating back more than 2,000 years. It is a small museum, but it is the best place in town to see evidence of the trade that once passed through here. Opening days and hours change, so confirm locally before you go.
