Pandrethan Shiva Temple stands at the centre of a natural spring-fed tank in the Badami Bagh cantonment area, around 6 km from Srinagar city. Dating to the 8th or 9th century CE, this ashlar stone structure is considered one of the finest surviving examples of classical Kashmiri temple architecture. Its two-storeyed pyramidal roof, intricate corbelled stone ceiling and tri-ratha plan are exceptionally well preserved. Entry requires a permit from the Indian Army.
