Makhdoom Sahib Shrine on the southern slope of Hari Parbat is dedicated to Hamza Makhdoom, the 16th-century Kashmiri Sufi poet and scholar revered as the Sultan-ul-Arifeen, the Sultan of the Saints of Kashmir. His dargah is a major site of devotion, drawing pilgrims year-round and especially during his urs. The hillside approach offers views across old Srinagar and the ascent passes through the historic Kathi Darwaza gate.
