Badamwari Garden at the foot of Hari Parbat hill is Srinagar's earliest herald of spring, when its almond orchards burst into pink and white blossom, typically in late February or early March. The garden is open during the bloom season only, and the sight of almond flowers against the backdrop of the fort walls draws large numbers of photographers and families. Outside blossom season it is a quiet park with chinar trees and pleasant views toward the hill.
