Zero Point, also called Yumesamdong, is the last civilian roadhead beyond Yumthang in North Sikkim, set in stark high country near 4,700 metres. Snow can linger well outside winter, and the thin air makes short stops wiser than long walks. Access depends on a Protected Area Permit plus daily weather and army clearances, so it should never be treated as guaranteed. Most travelers leave Lachung early, pause in Yumthang, then continue if the road is open.
- How to Reach: Continue roughly 20 to 25 km beyond Yumthang from Lachung by the same hired SUV. Confirm Zero Point clearance with your operator the evening before.
