Lachung Monastery is a Nyingma Buddhist gompa above the village, rebuilt on an older Bon site and active since the late nineteenth century. Murals, prayer wheels and a calm courtyard reward a short uphill walk from the main street. From the terrace you look across the Lachung Chu valley toward snow ridges that frame everyday village life. Visit in soft morning light, dress modestly, and keep voices low while monks are in prayer.
