Wat Thai Temple (Thai Buddhist Monastery) at Kushinagar is a beautifully constructed Thai Buddhist monastery near the Mahaparinirvana site, built through the generosity of the Thai government and Buddhist community. The temple features traditional Thai architecture characterised by multi-tiered golden roofs, ornate gable decorations, and a serene main prayer hall. Inside, a large golden Buddha statue and Thai-style murals create a devotional atmosphere. The monastery serves as a spiritual home for Thai pilgrims visiting Kushinagar and is part of the remarkable international Buddhist community that has settled around the site of the Buddha's final resting.
