Built during the Pallava era and reconstructed during the Medieval Chola period, the temple features a magnificent 12-tiered gopuram reaching 147 feet in height. The sanctum is characteristically designed in the form of a divine chariot. The temple houses beautifully carved stone pillars and magnificent architectural features.
