The Chandrabhaga temples stand on the bank of the Chandrabhaga river at Jhalrapatan, about 7 km south of Jhalawar. The oldest, the Sheetaleshwar Mahadev temple, is dated to 689 AD and is one of the earliest dated temples in Rajasthan. A pillared hall was added to it in the 10th century. Several smaller shrines around it, some in ruins, are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. The Chandrabhaga fair, held on the river bank in the month of Kartik, brings pilgrims for a ritual bath and a large cattle market.
