Raj Mandir Cinema

Single screen cinema opened in 1976, known for its pastel Art Moderne interiors; watching a Hindi film here is a Jaipur tradition.

Raj Mandir is a single screen cinema on Bhagwan Das Road, just off MI Road, and one of the best known movie halls in India. It opened on 1 June 1976 with the film Charas. Designed by the architect W. M. Namjoshi, it has a curving facade and a pastel pink foyer with swirling plaster ceilings and chandeliers, often compared to a meringue, in an Art Moderne style. Watching a Hindi film here with a full and noisy house is a classic Jaipur evening, and 2026 marks its 50th year. Tickets are sold by seat class, and shows on weekends and new release days sell out, so book ahead.
