Panna Meena ka Kund is a 16th-century stepwell in Amer, a short walk from the road up to Amber Fort and close to the Anokhi Museum. Flights of steps criss-cross all four sides down to a square pool that collects rainwater. It once supplied water to the neighbourhood and was a cool place for people to meet and bathe in summer. A small pavilion stands on one side, and the Jagat Shiromani temple is a few minutes' walk away. It is one of the most photographed spots in Amer, and early morning is the quietest time. Walking down the steps is no longer allowed, so you view it from the rim.
