Kalakya Mata Temple

Old goddess temple about 1 km inside the Jhalana leopard reserve, reached through the safari gate during set hours.

Kalakya Mata Temple, also known as Kalkaya Mata, stands about 1 km inside the Jhalana Leopard Conservation Reserve on the south eastern edge of Jaipur. It is an old temple of the goddess in the dry Aravalli forest, with an old stepwell nearby, and it draws local devotees in large numbers during Navratri. Because the temple is inside a leopard reserve, devotees use the same gate as the safaris, and access is only allowed during set hours. Feeding animals, plastic bags and loudspeakers are banned inside the reserve.
