Chand Baori, located in the ancient village of Abhaneri near Jaipur, is one of the largest, deepest, and most visually spectacular stepwells on earth. Built during the 8th century, this architectural masterpiece plunges thirteen stories deep with thousands of perfectly aligned, narrow steps arranged in a hypnotic geometric pattern. Opposite the steps, ornate carved pavilions and royal chambers showcase incredible structural engineering, making it a premier historical landmark for heritage tourism.
