Gangnani is a stop on the Gangotri highway about 46 km beyond Uttarkashi, known for its hot spring, Rishi Kund. Many pilgrims take a hot bath here on the way to Gangotri, in separate pools for men and women. A temple to the sage Parashar, father of Ved Vyas, stands near the spring.
