Chitkul village can be walked end to end in about twenty minutes, but the wooden houses, carved balconies, and slate roofs reward a slower pace. Lanes connect Mathi Temple, small Buddhist shrines, and viewpoints over the Baspa fields. Staying overnight after day-trip crowds leave is the best way to feel the quiet of the settlement.
