About Chandbali

Odisha

Overview

Chandbali is a river port town on the Baitarani in Bhadrak district of Odisha, and a common starting point for boat trips into Bhitarkanika National Park. The park is a maze of mangrove creeks with one of India's largest populations of saltwater crocodiles, along with monitor lizards, spotted deer and many waterbirds. Boats run downriver from Chandbali towards the Dangmal side of the park, while the forest offices at Khola and Gupti issue permits for other routes.
