Abu Dhabi landmark white marble mosque, open to visitors of all faiths with a clear dress code and paid non-resident entry.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is Abu Dhabi's best known landmark and one of the largest mosques in the world. White marble courtyards, reflecting pools, floral inlays and 82 domes make it a stop most first-time visitors put first. The mosque is named for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's founding president, who is buried on the grounds.

It is open to visitors of all faiths outside prayer times. Official Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre FAQs list visitor hours as Saturday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 8:30 pm, and Friday 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Admission applies: AED 10 for visitors from outside the UAE, AED 5 for Emirates ID holders, and AED 8 for visitors through tour operators. Free guided walk-in tours in English and Arabic run daily and last about 45 to 60 minutes; arrive about 15 minutes early.

Dress modestly. Official guidance asks for long, loose, ankle-length clothes for women and men, and a headscarf for women. Abayas and scarves are available on site if needed. Remove shoes before entering carpeted prayer areas. No food, drinks (including water) or smoking on the grounds. Personal photos and video are allowed at designated photo stops; commercial filming needs a permit.

Allow at least one to two hours. Pair it with Qasr Al Watan or the Corniche on the same day. Confirm current hours, tour times and fees on szgmc.gov.ae before you visit, as rules can change.
