Attukal Pongala

Attukal Pongala is a grand 10-day festival celebrated annually at the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple. In 2026, the festivities begin on February 23 and culminate with the world-famous Pongala ritual on the ninth day, March 3. The event officially concludes on the tenth day, March 4, with the Kuruthitharpanam ritual.

This "Sabarimala for Women" transforms Thiruvananthapuram into a massive, smoke-filled sanctuary of communal faith, sisterhood, and ancient tradition.
