Ngadak Chorling Monastery

One of Yuksom''s three key monasteries, built for Sikkim''s royal family.

Ngadak Chorling Monastery ranks among Yuksom's three principal monasteries, alongside Dubdi and Kartok, and carries considerable historical weight of its own. Built during the reign of Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal as a residence connected to Sikkim's royal family, it belongs to the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Parts of the structure have been rebuilt after earlier earthquake damage, yet it retains a quiet, meditative atmosphere valued by visitors seeking a monastery experience away from Yuksom's more crowded sites.
