Kuruva Island

Kuruva Island is a cluster of uninhabited islets spread across roughly 950 acres within the Kabini river, reached by crossing on a bamboo raft. The forest department limits daily entry, particularly during the October to March season, which helps preserve its rich birdlife and undisturbed vegetation. Swimming is discouraged due to the presence of crocodiles, but the island remains a strong draw for birdwatchers and anyone looking for a quieter, nature focused excursion away from Wayanad's busier attractions.
