Padmakshi Temple

12th century Kakatiya temple in Hanamkonda dedicated to Goddess Padmakshi.

Padmakshi Temple in Hanamkonda dates to the Kakatiya period and stands among the oldest shrines in the region, dedicated to Goddess Padmakshamma. An inscription from 1117 CE found at the site records an earlier Jain shrine on the same ground, pointing to a long layered religious history. The temple's granite Annakonda pillar, carved in a quadrangular shape, draws particular attention from visitors. Women devotees throng the temple during the Bathukamma festival, making it a significant stop on any heritage circuit.
