Amirthi Zoological Park and Falls

Zoo and wildlife sanctuary about twenty five kilometers from Vellore, with a seasonal waterfall reached by trekking.

Amirthi Zoological Park sits at the base of the Javadi Hills roughly twenty five kilometers from Vellore, established in 1967 across twenty five hectares of forest. Half the park functions as a zoo housing spotted deer, mongoose, wild cats, and peacocks, while the other half remains a protected wildlife sanctuary. A one kilometer trek leads to Amirthi Falls, a small seasonal cascade where visitors can wade in the pool below during the monsoon months.
