Sas Bahu Temple

A pair of 10th-century temples at Nagda, about 22 km from Udaipur, built by the Guhila dynasty on what was once the first capital of Mewar. The larger temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu while the smaller one honours Lord Shiva, giving rise to the popular name Sas Bahu, meaning mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Protected by the Archaeological Survey of India, the complex is celebrated for its intricately carved shikaras and sculptural panels.
