Gangadwar

A cave temple midway up Brahmagiri where the Godavari resurfaces after flowing underground.

Gangadwar sits partway up Brahmagiri Hill at the point where the Godavari River reappears after vanishing underground near its source. The site houses temples dedicated to Kalambika Mata, Gorakhnath, and Machindranath, reached by climbing roughly 500 to 750 stone steps depending on the route taken. Pilgrims consider this reemergence a minor miracle in itself, and the climb rewards visitors with sweeping views over the valley below before they continue on to the main Brahmagiri summit.
