Rettai Pillaiyar Koil, meaning twin Ganesha temple, houses two Ganesha idols side by side near the beginning of the Girivalam route, just past the Annamalaiyar Temple's eastern entrance. Pilgrims commonly stop here right after seeking Boodha Narayana Swami's blessing, making it one of the earliest ritual halts on the circumambulation. The shrine's compact, unassuming structure belies its popularity, as devotees believe seeking Ganesha's blessing at the very start of the walk clears obstacles for the spiritual journey that lies ahead around the hill.
