Idukku Pillaiyar Kovil takes its name from a narrow gap between two stone columns that devotees squeeze through, a ritual believed to remove obstacles and grant liberation from life's hardships. The shrine, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, sits along the Girivalam path and draws curious visitors as much for this unusual custom as for its devotional significance. Best visited during full moon nights between June and August, the temple offers a lighter, more playful counterpoint to the solemnity of the larger shrines nearby.
