Alipiri Mettu is the traditional starting point of the foot pilgrimage to Tirumala, located at the base of the ghats in Tirupati city. Thousands of barefoot devotees begin their ascent here each day, climbing the 3,550 steps flanked by gopurams, rest shelters, and continuous devotional music.
