Nameri National Park

Riverside wildlife sanctuary near Tezpur known for birdwatching, rafting on the Jia Bhoroli, and rare species.

Nameri National Park spreads across forest and grassland roughly 35 kilometres from Tezpur, on the way toward Arunachal Pradesh. The park shelters tigers, elephants, and the endangered white winged wood duck, making it a draw for serious birdwatchers. Guided treks and rafting trips on the Jia Bhoroli River are the main ways to explore, since vehicle access inside the core area is limited. Early mornings offer the best chances of sightings, and the eco camps at the edge of the park make a good overnight base.
