Chitralekha Udyan (Cole Park)

Chitralekha Udyan, still known locally as Cole Park, was laid out in 1906 during British rule and remains the town's favourite green space. Manicured lawns surround a pair of ponds, and pathways loop past centuries old stone pillars and sculptures recovered from nearby archaeological sites. Musical fountains and children's play areas draw families in the evenings, while morning walkers use the park for exercise. The mix of colonial landscaping and older Assamese relics gives the park a layered, unhurried character.
