Agnigarh Hill rises above the Brahmaputra and carries the legend of Usha, daughter of King Bana, who was kept here behind a ring of fire to keep her away from Aniruddha. Sculpted panels and a small park now cover the slope, recreating scenes from the story. Paved paths wind up to a viewing point that looks out over the river and the city below. Evenings bring the best light, and the hill stays a popular stop for both history and the view itself.
