Khutwanda Gate is one of the six core entry gates of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, along with Moharli, Kolara and the other core gates. It lies in the Moharli range, roughly 45 km from Chandrapur, and is a useful alternative when Moharli gate permits are sold out. Like the rest of Tadoba, the forest here is teak and bamboo with meadows and water holes, and tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, gaur and many birds are seen.
Book core safaris on mytadoba.mahaforest.gov.in, up to 120 days ahead. The core is closed on Tuesdays. Check your permit for the gate and allow travel time from your lodge.
