Pathala Ganga sits just a kilometer from the main temple, tucked into the backwaters of the Krishna River below the hilltop town. Pilgrims reach it either by a ropeway descending several hundred feet or by walking down roughly five hundred steps from near the Hanuman Temple. The water here is considered highly auspicious, and many devotees take a purifying dip before heading up to darshan. Pathala Ganga also serves as the boating point for trips toward the Akka Mahadevi Caves.
